The documentation is one of the most important components for the inspection of components.

Especially for new developments, prototypes, sample parts, new start-ups, mould changes and for random samples of serial parts, the quality must be recorded or checked.
A large number of evaluations and analyses can be derived from the data obtained.

For this purpose, Porsche AG recently developed a Quality Map (Q-Map for short) for the documentation of components, which is based on Excel and can be evaluated.

For this purpose, Porsche AG recently developed a Quality Map (Q-Map for short) for the documentation of components, which is based on Excel and can be evaluated.
Due to the close cooperation between Porsche AG and BMB GmbH, the Q-Map was completely revised with the help of a new part development as part of a bachelor thesis. The bachelor student from Porsche AG was supported by BMB GmbH, instructed in the NDT test procedures and was able to participate in practical evaluations and evaluations of component tests.

This enabled the existing Q-Map to be adapted to the current status. The handling of the input system was improved by a clearer layout and increased user-friendliness.
The data from the test were transferred to the component simulation, so that the influence of defects in the component could also be simulated at Porsche AG.

The BMB GmbH is currently creating a system-independent input system that can be viewed worldwide and further pursues the Q-Map character. In the future, these systems should reduce the time required, even for very extensive documentation, to a minimum.

Touch screen evaluations

In which sector of the component is the fault exactly? What type of defect is it and to what extent? Answers to these questions are provided by our touch screen evaluation, in which all these questions are documented during X-ray inspection, for example.

Collection of all test data in a central database

All handwritten notes required during component inspection have been replaced by our daily report module. Every workstation is equipped with this program. All test data of the inspection of your components are collected in a secure central database. From this database we take the basic data of the test in order to calculate the individual best price for you.

Complete digital data processing

The test report, which we create for you individually and digitally, contains information on the test equipment system or system parameters used, the test procedure, the test results and their display assessments.

All of our test reports are generated individually on the PC and are sent to you after an approval process and archived at the same time with us. This allows us to work for you in an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient way.

Test instructions

Always up to date

Test instructions tell our testers exactly how the test process is to run right down to the system parameters. We develop these details in digital form together with our customers and on the basis of current standards. All current test instructions and documents are stored as pdf documents in our self-developed touch screen system. In this way, we can ensure that only the current status of the document can be viewed by the inspector. The files can be viewed quickly, easily and for everyone on an intranet homepage.

Supplementary e-mail system

Each of our inspectors has his own e-mail box, which he can access from any workstation equipped with a touch screen. In the event of a change to an inspection instruction, an e-mail is sent to all employees to eliminate sources of error due to outdated information. The Infomail provides the employee with a link to the new, revised inspection instruction.

    Data Matrix Code (DMC)

    Fingerprint for each component

    The German car manufacturers are striving for the complete conversion of a fingerprint into code form for each component (requiring documentation). We can read this out and use it for your evaluation in a solution- and target-oriented way.

    With the help of a special camera, a data matrix code previously applied to the component can be read out and filled with information. This information can refer to the casting date and the inspection date of the part. Thus each component gets a unique fingerprint.

    Customer-specific documentation

    X-ray inspection

    With the help of a reference ball, which is attached to the component, an X-ray image is created. The image is labeled and the defect on the component is marked. After the image has been converted into a JPG file, the respective images are sent to you.

    Penetrant inspection

    During the test, typical indicia of the penetration test are determined, separated and recorded under UV light and/or daylight, depending on the documentation required.

    Specific evaluation of CT tomograms

    Tomograms can be evaluated according to a specified pore specification. The actual state of the tomogram can be determined or an o.k. or n.i.k. can be determined according to the specification. evaluation can be carried out. In addition, target-actual comparisons can be made using comparison data provided. Specific errors such as blowholes, for example, are evaluated by us for you with the help of tomograms, in order to be able to make statements about size and extent.
